We are proud of the working relationships with our trusted suppliers and Nigel, farm manager at family-owned Secrett’s Farm in the heart of beautiful Surrey is no exception.
Walking around the 150 acre farm it is clear that Nigel knows every square foot of the fields and glasshouses that span the farm and he knows exactly what is being grown where and when it will be ready to harvest.
For example, take the rhubarb which is the star ingredient in this month’s set menu. Normally you would start to see this harvested in time for May but our unpredictable British climate meant that there was a late start to the rhubarb season. At Secrett’s, their rhubarb is left to ripen just as nature intended even if it means it’s a little bit late.
